LG G5 motion sensor dead

[Android Central Question]

I just got a new phone and it looks the motion sensor is dead, cannot rotate pictures on screen or calibrate it.
Any thoughts on this ?

It's getting more interesting, the sensor worked for about 24 hrs and then quit again. Before started to work the phone was getting very hot and draining the battery very quickly. While the motion sensor was enabled (working) the phone didn't overheat anymore and was draining the battery at a very slow pace with moderate use. Today the phone is operating without overheating but the battery went down to 40% in 3hrs with no phone usage and motion sensor dead again. Anybody has any idea what's wrong here ?

This time it worked for 72 hrs maybe, now motion sensor is dead again with the battery discharging at a rate of 1%/min with no phone use. Need help here big time, it looks like this phone it's a lemon.
