Android Central Question

I haven't unlocked it, or tried flashing it or modding it. It is a vanilla phone with default settings. I left it charging all night and woke up to the fastboot screen.
Turning the phone on, it goes straight to the boot screen, with "welcome to Fastboot Mode for bootloader unlock".

switching the phone on, I can sometimes get to the factory reset menu, but when I try to reset it, the phone will turn off and boot into the fastboot menu. I can also get the phone to display the imei number. i tried downloading platform-tools and the pc recognises the phone, but running some commands such 'fastboot reboot' and ' fastboot reboot recovery' does not work.

Welcome to the forums. Try typing fastboot devices. You should get a serial number. If you don't, your PC is not communicating with the phone.

thanks for the welcome.
I should have been more clear. the phone is communicating with the pc. typing "fastboot reboot" just reboots the phone back into fastboot mode.

Ok. It sounds like something happened to the OS. You should be able to reflash the stock ROM through fastboot commands. You will have to check around for files. You can try XDA developers. Just make sure you are downloading files for your exact model number.
