LG G5 problem with photos stored to SD card

Hello forum members,

Anyone else experiencing issues with photos saved to SD card on the LG G5? I'm finding that, randomly, certain photos will 'corrupt' a day or so later. I can still see a full image thumbnail in the gallery app but upon expanding the image the majority of the photo will be covered by grey blocks or the full image will show briefly only to rapidly grey out in entirety. This is the second LG G5 on which I've had this issue. The common theory online is that this is generally a faulty/corrupt SD card issue but having purchased a new higher spec SD card has not solved the problem. I've also used the new card in my old LG G3 and saved pictures without a problem. Photos saved to internal storage are unaffected. I've tried all the usual routes; chkdsk to ensure that the SD card is not corrupt, formatting the card, reseating the card, remounting the card and clearing the camera app data and cache etc. but to no avail. I'm assuming therefore that this is some sort of issue with the phone itself and that, perhaps, the vendor I purchased from has a faulty batch. Contacted LG customer support two weeks ago about this issue but have heard nothing back. If anyone has any further suggestions as to what else I might try I'd be hugely grateful.

Many thanks.

Don't have any help for you but that is my concern about the suggestions to rely on an sd card vs more internal storage. I hope you are backing up your photos automatically with Google Photos, drop box or something similiar.

I'm glad someone else brought this up.

I am having the same issue.

I wonder if I took pics and saved them in internal storage then, when full, moved them to the SD card if that would help.

I'm going to try that. I'll get back to you.

Try reformatting the card....obviously after backing up the card or try a different card.

Ive heard of this many times.. it was worse in LP, but try and format the SDCard in the device your using it with, not on your pc/mac ,,,, that usually fixes it.. other than that.. yeah, it could be on its way out

Dont forget Android )Linux) is different to Windows / OSX and your sdcards need to be formatted in your devices.. also have you done a factory reset on your G5 since your last firmware upadate, this could also be an issue..

Thanks NightOrchid. I have previously tried formatting the card both in the device and via PC but this has not cured the problem. LG are unaware of any related issue and suggested a factory reset which I've done with latest firmware reinstalled but I'm still having this issue. On the point of returning the phone as I can't really think what else to try.
