LG G6+ and Android Auto

Flummoxed here. First, I own a 2017 Kia Niro as well as a 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood. Earlier this week I had a local stereo shop install an Alpine iLX-207. I can't get my LG to pair with the Alpine for Android Auto.

Some installers Samsung phones would pair with the Alpine.

My LG wouldn't pair with the demo model of the same Alpine in the listening room.

My LG pairs quickly with my Niro.

Finally, my husband's iPhone X paired up with the Alpine for Apple Car Play.

Thoughts? A setting I'm missing?

Welcome to Android Central! Does your G6+ even see the Alpine as an available device to pair with? On your phone, is there an option to Refresh the device list, or actively Scan for new devices?

If you check the official Android Auto (AA) site, you'll see that lots of people with lotsa of different phones and cars are having a multitude of on going issues. Look over this site for any help that you migh need.
