LG G7 vs Oneplus 6 / 6T

Hi all,

Now that an unlocked LG G7 can be had for under 600, that puts it roughly at the same price as a 128GB OP6 / 6T.

Aside from the obvious pros and cons of each which I have listed below, is there anything else that the forum would think makes one the better choice?

LG - better screen, sound/DAC, headphone jack, not sure about camera in general but at least wide angle, wireless charging

OP6 - better software / optimization, battery, most trustworthy with software updates

To oversimplify things, I feel like the G7 might have the edge on hardware and the OP6 on software.

Truth is I was getting ready to buy the 6T when it comes out in a few weeks, just wondering about the LG G7 now that the price is coming down.

What are your thoughts?

We are a One Plus family. I bought 0ne plus 3t for my daughter and I when they came out and loved them. My wife needed a new phone this spring so I bought her the one plus 6 and she loves it. I recently needed a new phone and was going to get the one plus 6t but after spending a little time with my wife's one plus 6 I decided NOT to buy. I bought the LG G7 instead. Mainly because I have smaller hands and the LG G7 fits perfectly into one hand for one handed operation. The trend with one plus is they are making their phones larger which for me isn't one handed friendly.

I got the LG G7 6 gigs ram and 128gb storage for under $600. Truthfully, the battery is just okay but the one plus 6 or the 6t is hands down Better. I suppose just like anything it's all about buying what meets your needs the best.

So far I'm really happy with my decision to get the G7 and have no regrets. This is my first ever LG phone and really thought I wouldn't buy anything but one plus. If you have smaller hands and use your phone ALOT I think you'd be happy with the LG G7.

Where did you get the 6gb version, i am looking for usa unlocked and cannot find one.

B&H has the 4gb for 569 right now, that is the best deal i can find.

My husband got his LG G7 ThinQ in September. The camera is really good - I've really liked the quality of his photos. His battery life seems to be really good so far.

If you are someone who does a lot of audio/gaming/music on their phones, I would recommend the G7 ThinQ over the 6/T. But I'm sure the 6T could still perform just as well in other areas.

i would probably wait for the 6t...

the dac is nice but i use a dedicated music player so i probably would not use the phone as a music player.

i have tended to focus on hardware when i buy which is why i am partly intrigued by oxygen os.

I'll wait until the 6t comes out. if the camera is good i migjt lean that way, if it isn't then probably not.

Oxygen OS is a very good system, from what I've heard. It's one reason why I've been wanting to try a OP phone for the past year or two.

LG G7! The onpeplus 6 main advantage over other flagships is the bang for the buck. But the LG g7 is a better device for just about the same price. So oneplus looses it's main advantage in this match up.
