Android Central Question

How do you access internal storage on a G8.

I've used the USB cable that came with it to hook it to my Windows 10 computer. I then select "File Transfer" from the "Use USB connection for" options. I do not see the phone pop up on "My Computer."

Change the setting on the phone to "Photo Transfer." Can no see phone on "My Computer." Open it and I get Internal Storage icon. Open that I get two folders "DCIM" and "Pictures."

At this point I cannot add folders. Any attempt to add a new folder causes a pop up that says "The new folder could not be created in this location. The device has either stopped responding or been disconnected."

If I got into DCIM or Pictures I can created folders in those folders.

If I reset the USB option to "File Transfer" the phone disappears from "My Computer."

I'm trying to upload music files primarily and online information tells me I have to create a music folder.

Any thoughts on what I can do?

Welcome to Android Central! In Windows Explorer, are you looking in the device list on the left side? The phone might not show up as "LG G8" -- it might use the model number, like "LM-G820."
