vertical line down left side and funky colors blurring imag to the left of line .....help

Welcome to Android Central! Does it persist after a reboot, or in Safe Mode? https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-30604. If so, then it's a problem with the hardware -- bring it to a repair shop.
