According to gsmarena.com LG is going to launch a V30 Plus model which will contain the high quality soundchip, wireless charging and more storage. Source: LG V30 could cost $700, a Plus model will launch simultaneously - GSMArena.com news

As long as the V30 Plus contains all features and is available in all regions I'm totally fine with the opportunity to choose between both. But I'm seriously concerned that LG will repeat the G6 failure by making features exclusive for certain regions and not even launching the Plus model outside Korea. Let's start praying ...

Praying won't change it. Whatever it is there are always options.

If there is a Plus model and they don't sell it in my region, I'll wait and get an iPhone 8 or maybe another Android device. The problem is, I don't know which Android device could be an alternative because I don't like Samsung but want small bezels.

So it's marketed as a super media device with great audio etc... if some regions don't get the DAC what the hell is the point then?

We don't know that yet....the V20 Had the DAC everywhere except some areas had B&O tuning.

Some people didn't care about the DAC, complained about the boring outdated looks, didn't use the removable battery or IR blaster. The result is the V30.

LG needs to take risks, sure the G5 was a flop but the V20 did very well. They should include all the features for the US release and make those features all standard. We don't need a LG G6 1.5.

I'm not so sure any of these items are to blame for low sales. Without a doubt there were some sales lost but to say derivitive models were the root cause of poor sales would be purely speculation.

Yeah, I'd say: The sales wouldn't have been great either because LG isn't well known and doesn't do a lot of marketing here in Europe. But by crippling the G6 they managed to even betray the little fanbase they had and got a lot of bad press. So I'd say it is not the main reason for LGs continuous failure on the european smartphone market, but it made shure this wouldn't change with the G6.

In any event it is just bizzare because some of the features probably add little to the cost.
