LG Nexus 4 - camera shows "no external storage available"

In an attempt to delete photos taken with the phone, I'd mistakenly cleared the cache. Now, I'm unable to take pics. I can provide details of my arrival at this clumsy error if needed. Thanks in advance, Joe

You just need to kill the camera and gallery app from the task viewer. Did exactly the same as you and this worked

Or, to regain access to your camera and gallery, just power off the Nexus 4 and turn it back on.

My GN4 was slowing down and draining quickly. Among other things like uninstalling apps, I cleared the cache and backups for my photos, only to have problems like the above post.... I found this page, and used both of your solutions... Opened both apps in App Info, cleared the data, disabled and re-enabled them, then completely powered down and rebooted. Problem fixed. I wanted to take the time to thank both of you, since the original poster failed to do so... So.... THANK YOU!!!
