LG Optimus 4X HD Touch Screen Unresponsive - Help?

My phone is not new. I've had it for maybe six months and I never had an issue with it up until a few minutes ago. I was in the middle of a phone call when the battery ran out and it died. Me thinking nothing of it, plugged it in and gave it a few minutes to charge so that I could call the person back. When the phone turned on however, the touch screen was unresponsive. I don't understand why the touch screen would suddenly just stop working? I've tried taking out the battery to shut it down and turning it back on to see if it would fix the issue three times and got the same issue every time. It's pretty urgent that I get this working ASAP so that I can stay in contact with my job and everything. :/ Help?

So the screen might have been knocked out of place or when the battery died it might have fizzled some of the touch hardware. (You dont have too believe me because im only 12 years old but you should trust me because i know a lot of stuff about electronics)
