Lg optimus g pro front camera not working.

Hello everyone, i have been having problems with my lg optimus g pro. My front camera refuses to work. Any app that uses the front camera refuses to give me an option to use. I think it might be a software problem with 4.4.2 because of the apps not seeing that there is a front camera. I bought this second hand and still have a warranty on this, this is why i want to know if anyone else is having an issue. I really dont want to return this phone cause it works perfect except for that. It just has been bugging me that i can't seem to find an answer to this issue. Thanks for any replies.

Welcome to Android Central! Try booting into Safe Mode. Press and hold Power until you see the Power Off menu, then press and hold the Power Off option until it gives you a Safe Mode option. When it reboots, all 3rd party apps will be temporarily disabled. If the camera works now, then something that you installed is interfering. If the camera still doesn't work, then it is likely a hardware of firmware issue.

Rebooting normally will get you out of Safe Mode.

Do you know if the phone is rooted, perhaps running a custom ROM?

Hi Dylan. Do you know if the camera was working before the KitKat update (4.4.2)? Also, do you receive any type of error messages when attempting to use the front camera? If so, can you provide a screenshot? ^DT

My front camera isn't working (LG OPTIMUS G), alone or with an app, i have a black screen with blue lines.
At first i just need like 20sec and the image came back but since a week or two the picture is not coming back, photo or video.
I just have something like that can you help me ? -> can you help me ?

So i rebooted my phone in safemode and didnt help. How can i fix the hardware or firmware?

Welcome to Android Central! Assuming you have an LG phone, you'd probably have to speak to LG about warranty repair (if the phone is still under warranty).
