LG Optimus Q Contact List Malfunction

When I try to add a New Contact to the current Contact List on my phone, the new contact won't show up on my phone's alphabetical list. I think the New Contact is somehow going to my Google Account, because sometimes when I Google Search on my phone, then it will pull up the New Contact (but it's still not on my phone contact list). How do I change this back to where I can add a New Contact to my phone contact list, and they not go off to my Google contact list automatically? Appreciate so much any feedback & assistance.

ive noticed if i try to import a vcard from my optimus WITHOUT being sync'd to google. my contacts wont show up at all. it may be the same case for you but in reverse. try syncing and see if your contact shows up. there are other ways of adding contacts without using google at all. i would suggest looking on the market for a contacts/phone replacement app.
