LG Optimus Slider stuck on LG logo screen

I have an LG Optimus Slider (Virgin Mobile LGVM701) that is stuck on the LG logo screen. The phone was given to me so I have no idea what happened. However, I would like to try to fix it IF possible.

I've tried the power, home, volume down buttons and also tried the camera, power, volume down, and back buttons to boot to emergency mode. Nothing but the LG logo screen. No other buttons light up, just the screen...and it stays on the logo screen, does not go black until the battery dies or I take the battery out.

Connect the USB cable to my PC and it doesn't recognize the phone.

Is the phone repairable? How can I get a new rom or recovery loaded into it when it won't do squat?

I would like to fix it myself...but I am willing to pay someone to fix it. How would I go about finding someone who can fix it or is it hopeless?

Thanks for any advice you can offer. I'm new to Android phones but willing to learn.

Pull the battery out for five seconds or more.

Put it back in and hold back, volumedown, and finally power. That's how you get into recovery :3

I've tried that but still just get the logo screen. I've had the battery out for 5-10 seconds, 5 minutes and let the battery run down in the phone. Nothing seems to make a difference.

I don't know if the phone is locked up, bricked, or junk.

You can get into fastboot to put a recovery on if you can get rid of the kernel on it lol.

i have the optimus zip pretty much same phone. i am stuck on lg screen also this phone does not have built in recovery. i flashed the Cannibal-Open-Touch-v1.2_thunderc_vm.img and its been stuck on the lg logo every sense. i can get into emergency mode. i have tried lgnpst with numerous dll and bin and tot files nothing works. i have tried a few other programs also. lgnpst and kp500 utility and kdz exe only ones that recognizes comports. kdz i get error 100 and 72. im sure i just need the right dll and bin for lgnpst or right cab for kp500 not sure about kdz. any help would be appreciated.


also i failed to mention how i bricked it. i flashed cannibal open touch recovery using the phones terminal emulator and adb

I am having a very similar problem, however when I try to access recovery, I get a "blank" black screen. Normal power up just leaves LG. I can access emergency mode as well. I can't connect with adb.

I have 3 of these sliders, love them!

Unfortunately, I tried to install Xionia_CWMA_12518.6_VM_Recovery-signed.zip to get out of a boot animation that kept looping. I think that's what caused it to brick. Any progress on your end?
