LG rolling out Android 5.0 to the G3 starting this week

Another article with sealed lips about which carriers and /or geographic areas are getting updated; with the exception of Poland - a "key market."

Att told me today we should have the update first of November and should fix the signal/reception issues some of us are dealing with.

Hoping to have it before the end of the year but we all know how long that takes. By the time it's out a new bigger and better phone will be out. Lol

This is fantastic news for us g3 users. Looks like lg have upped there game

Not to nit pick, but isn't it already past the first of November?

The first, the ninth, it's all good. Perhaps they meant 2015.

Well I promised myself I would never buy another non Nexus phone ever again but this might change the way I think if future updates will be like this :)

Being on Verizon only the Oracle knows when we will actually see this update. However, I will not hold LG responsible for the shortcomings of Verizon. Way to go LG, keep up with support like this and you have earned my continued support of your products.

Verizon, you still have a long way to go.

I don't care what kind of phone you have, that's not how I judge someone's worth or intelligence.

Coming from Blackberry 4 months ago, any update within 50 years will be a novelty for me.

Yep... excellent news to hear. I really get the sense that Google leaned on OEMs pretty hard to get their collective heads out of their butts and update their phones. Motorola (expected), Sony, Samsung, LG, HTC.... all have had leaked screenshots of LP builds floating around.... presumably implying that we can expect most all major OEMs to release 5.0 updates shortly.

Of course, this is all moot since it STILL means that carriers have to get their grubby hands on the builds.... and who knows how long those yahoos will take to OTA them.... here in the States, I'm guessing T-Mobile will be first out of the gate, because they don't suck.... and everyone's favorite wiressless company, Verizon, will probably take its sweet time.

Not that I care all that much, I'm hoping the all-in-one CloudyG3 ROM, based off the D855 international version, will be out shortly after LG rolls out the base ROM.

Ya think so? T-Mobile is awesome, my carrier also, but in the past they've been slow to update. I think because of the wi-fi calling support. If anyone knows better please chime in. I hope I'm wrong.
