Lg v10 How do you fix the slow (non) charging?

My v10 either will not charge at all or charge very slowly when its plugged up and I'm using the phone. When I'm not using it it charges fine. My other cell phones (current galaxy, moto, htc) charges the same regardless if I am on my phone or not. How can I fix this? My phone was plugged up and in thirty minutes I went from 56 to 56 with a fast charger. I've tried different charges and I have the same problem. The screen can't be sucking up that much power.

Any suggestions. I really love this phone but what can you do if you can't charge it and use it at the same time?

Do you only use original charger??

Once you start mixing 3rd party chargers with the original it becomes an issue.

Disconnect ac adapter from wall and connect again.

You have to play with it before it fast charge.

Download Ampere from the play store and run it while you are charging the phone. It will tell you what charge current you are getting.

Sounds like to much heat is being produced between charging, screen being on, and apps you are running, that the phone is slowing the charge rate to reduce the heat being produced.

I've owned both the G4 and V10 and even though LG relaxed the thermal threshold some on the V10, it's still a little tighter than some other phones.

Are you using the OEM USB cable? I have found the cable makes a difference. With some of my non-OEM cables, charging stops all together, without warning. FWIW I am not a power user, so I typically use one maybe two apps at a time. Given this phones multi-tasking flexibility I could see a situation where open/actively running apps and screen brightness could consume enough power to slow down charging.

Are you using a 9V fast charger? A lot of "fast chargers" (particularly battery banks) are marketed as that but are only 5 volts.

What apps are you running?

Its the thermal threshold kicking in. LG is trying to manage heat and protect the device.

I'm a heavy user. I'll admit that. But I have never had these issues with other phones.

If the phone is fast charging just fine with screen off, it's not the cable or charger.

The phone is simply getting hot, hitting thermal threshold, and the charging is slowing to manage the heat. It's working how LG intended.
