LG V10 micro USB port loose

So I just switched from my One M8 to the LG V10 just two days ago. Loving every single thing about it except for one oddity: the microusb port is a bit on the loose side.

The OEM cord fits in fine: charging (including Quick Charge 2.0) and data transfers fit just fine and work as intended. It's just that the port has quite a bit more wiggle room than usual.

I've tried a myriad of other cables I own at home: two sets of cables from Samsung when I had my S2 and S4, my cable from my M8, two Micflip reversible microusb cables which are pretty sizable and tight on most devices, a 6ft Anker powerline cable and an Aukey cable from my two port 10,000mah external battery. Out of all those cables, the Aukey cable and the OEM one which came with my V10 fit the best with the least wiggle room though still sizable enough to be concerning.

Upon closer inspection, the microusb seems to be a bit wider and a bit more shallow, two large openings present on the top side of the usb port (the side opposite of the side where the "teeth" of the plug would slide into and lock the cable in place firmly).

This seems to be a fairly common issue with some V10's as a few people on XDA have already taken note of the irregularity. I won't be going back to T-Mobile as the phone still charges despite the wiggle room.

That being said, does anyone else here have a V10 with a loose port and if so, have any advice?

I don't have the V10, but would suggest keeping a close eye on it and be sure to return the device immediately if the port fails. Hopefully it doesn't, but if it does, you want to return it during the warranty period.

As far as suggestions, I would stick with the cable(s) that offer the less wiggle or movement. That seems to be the OEM and Aukey cables.

I noticed the same wiggle... even with the stock oem charger... no issues tho, going on a month... wish it would click and be secure like the iphone lightning cable, but as long as it doesn't get worse i'm fine with it...

Re: LG V10 micro USB port loose - PROBLEM SOLVED!

I haven't seen recent posts on this, so maybe everyone else found a solution but I've had this nagging charging port problem for months. Charging port loose, phone constantly beeping during charging because its gets connected and then disconnected unless you physically force the USB plug into the socket.

Verizon told me this was "corrosion" although I never got the phone wet, and they told me it wouldn't be covered by warranty. Stubborn as I am I refused to do an insurance return on this because that would still cost me $200 for a refurbished phone. The local repair shop would charge me $90 to fix the USB port. Tempted to find a solution on my own, I searched the internet for parts and DIY instructions. Instead a found this:

LG V10 now supports wireless charging!!! So, I bought a new leather back case for $16 and a high speed charger for $24

LG V10 Case, LG V10 leather Back Case, LG V10 Glass Screen Protector, Aomax® Qi Wireless Charging Receiver IC Chip With NFC (Qi Genuine leather Red)

[Fast Wireless Charger] NANAMI Qi Fast Wireless charging Stand

I received everything today. The back-case is beautiful and sleek and I can still use my Obliq case with it without compromising the wireless charging speed.

OBLIQ [Shock Absorption][Flex Pro] [Black] Slim Fit Scratch Resist Protective Case for LG V10

Now I'm back to LOVING MY LG V10 PHONE without regrets! I hated plugging in that stupid microUSB anyway!
