Thought I would post my experience with a LG V20 and my return. Just my experience, take it with a grain of salt, for some it's probably a great fit And take comfort with the fact I am a WP convert who has had a Note 3 for 2+ years but will never admit Android OS is better than WP. But if you want to hear why WP is dead and MS eagerly dug the hole, let me know. Or why when you have a 15 year old Sprint family plan with a grandfathered unlimited data plan you never leave and take whatever phone they will offer, again, let me know.

Anyhoo, I have had my Note 3 (N3) on Sprint for 2 years and the battery is starting to drain fast. I finally decided that I was going to get the latest, greatest premier phone no matter the cost. Did I mention I had a grandfathered family plan, a wife, and 3 kids who will never leave said plan if you tried to pry them off with a crow bar and I am still paying over $300 a month to Sprint?

So I decided on the V20 after my first choice, the Note 7 was recalled. But within a week I realized it didn't seem like a next-gen phone compared to my N3 and returned it. If I had owned a small screen phone I might have kept it but for the reasons below, it didn't measure up.

  1. The screen wasn't much better than my N3. Same size, maybe more vibrant, but not next-gen. Had it been 6 inch, then yes.
  2. Battery was very good, but again, not a huge improvement. I still had times when I had to charge it to make the end of the day.
  3. Second Screen is a great idea but terribly implemented. I wanted more customization on it. I would rather have it display detailed info like number of of unread messages and unread emails for one. But it seemed to be set on showing me shortcuts when I didn't want to see them. And no consistent ability to show status-bar data on it. Which leads me to my next point.
  4. Unable to remove the top status bar and use the Second Screen instead. Why have a Second screen if you also have the status bar? More wasted space.
  5. No physical keys. Having a 5.7 inch screen with part covered by soft keys means it's not really a 5.7 inch screen to me.

Overall it's a good phone, but not worth the money over my N3 and I would wager not as good as a N5 or newer top-of-the-line large screen phone. So back to my N3 and getting a new battery until the N8 or another 6 inch Android phablet hits.
