LG V20 Switch from AT&T to T-Mobile: Software updates?

If I switch my LG V20 from AT&T to T-Mobile, will I ever be able to upgrade the software or to dump the AT&T software that came with the phone?

I believe they want to get rid of the AT&T version and replace it the T-Mobile software but it's hard to tell from the question.

I believe they want to get rid of the AT&T version and replace it the T-Mobile software but it's hard to tell from the question.

To me it sounds like he's considering both options. I have a feeling that he'd have to flash the update if he completely swapped over to the T-Mobile ROM but could use bridge to update if he just carrier unlocked.
