I have just returned from Hong Kong and purchased 2 LG V40 phones (£399 each) whilst there. I was told they were "UNLOCKED TO ANY CARRIER" and even came with a UK charger.
When I tried to set them up I got a REGION LOCK restriction that doesn't allow the phone to log on to my UK Vodaphone account.
There is a message in the box that says the phone must be set up in the region it was purchased before taking it to another Country.
I am amazed and gob-smacked! It is likely LG have lost a customer forever!
QUESTIONS
1) If I insert a Hong Kong SIM in them in the UK it will roam to Hong Kong. Will this unlock the phone?
OR
2) Will LG issue an UNLOCK code to deactivate this ludicrous feature?
