LG V60 Face Unlock?

So... Love my new V60 (I've only had it 24 hours) and I went to setup face unlock and I can't find the setting.

I know where it's supposed to be but it's not there. Any advice?

I discovered that and it's strange. Good news is they can enable it via a software update.

I was under the impression it's missing the hardware needed for facial recognition, so no software update can enable it.

What hardware doesn't it have? It has a camera and the rest is software.

I don't know all the specifics (I don't care to use it, so it's not something I follow closely), but pretty sure the secure forms of facial recognition use a depth sensing camera so they can't be opened by a photo of you, and the V60 doesn't have that camera. It was a comment I read a while back at XDA.

I don't think you will see any update to phone that would add feature unfortunately...
