I have an LG Velvet phone that hasn't been used in a while. It's reporting that a software update is available, but doesn't connect to the server to download it. I do understand that LG has shut down their servers earlier this year.
I don't need the phone to do anything fancy... basically manage contacts and photos, and make/take calls.
How can I get the missing updates onto this phone? Is there anywhere to download them and sideload them? Would rooting the phone be helpful at all?
And more importantly, if I reset this phone, will I lose all the updates that are currently installed?
