Has anyone had any luck in dealing with LG concerning sending their device in for service? I won't accept a refurbished device from AT&T and am exploring this option. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Before the G3, I had a G2.
I started to be unable to hear anything from the phone's speaker.
I called LG, set up a claim, mailed the device to them (Texas, if I recall), they fixed it at no charge and sent it back to me.
The whole process took 8 days.
I still have that G2 as it is now the wife's phone.
No problems with it since.

As the unit had an, as we say, a defect in work or materials, the repair was no charge. Just the $5 to ship it there.
What is the problem with yours?

Massive overheating and battery drain. I have tried the SD card fix, installed GSam to see if it was an app, several factory resets, etc... I really like the device and want to make it serviceable again.

Give them a call. Does not hurt to ask.
