I just got an LG Watch R and my Note 4 now will not last from 6am to 10pm like it used to. If I disconnect my watch then my great battery life comes back.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this?

try limiting the notifications to the bare minimum - calls, texts, emails.

good luck.

If you can't use the watch as it was intended then what's the point? Likewise, if the phone won't last a day without charging then it's time to consider a new phone. As for me, I'm going to switch to the new Pebble once it's available. I don't mind charging every night when I go bed, but I do insist on a full day's charge. My G Watch R can barely handle that, and that's not acceptable to me.

if you have a million silly notifications from every social media app and game going off every second - expect a battery hit. if you buy a car and drive it 200 miles at 85 mph all day every day - expect to have to go to the gas station to refuel a lot. the laws of physics do not change to satisfy your temper tantrums. reasonable use is reasonable use and excessive is excessive.

I had a similar experience with my G watch R and Galaxy Note 3 until I turned off Facebook notifications on the watch. Now I can go 2-3 days on a single charge on my watch, and go 5am-11pm with battery to spare on the phone. I would like to have every feature turned on all the time, too... but I also understand how incredibly unrealistic that is. The reason a Pebble can last so long is because the display looks like crap and the watch doesn't do half the things the GwR will do. Just my pair of pennies. :-)
