LGG6 Gallery Problem: Will only play/display the first file in any folder

Hey

So, this problem started about 4 days ago and I haven't found a fix. When I open my Gallery, then open a Folder, and click on a file (video) it automatically takes me to the first file (video or picture). They will play in X player.

Any suggestions/fixes are most appreciated.

Edit: Files are in both the internal memory and the SD card. I can play all the videos in Xplayer in any order but not directly from Gallery. I can not set Xplayer as default.

Did u try a restart... Is your stuff on phone memory or sd card?

I'd try clearing the cache for the Gallery app and see if that fixes the problem.

I have done a restart. No improvement. I have most files on the SD card, but some on the phone itself. Both sources have the same problem.

Next step is to take it back. I hate this effing phone!

Hi! Not sure if you have already finished troubleshooting, but the solution I found was to go to settings > general > apps > gallery > storage > clear data and clear cache. Also did this for photos (instead of gallery). Then, I went into the gallery app, clicked a video, and choose the open with video option instead of photos. This should make it work.

I tested it by then choosing the other option (I believe it was photos), which would result in the first picture opening instead of the video. Once you've confirmed video is the correct option, you can set that as the default. Good luck!
