LGL86c Optimus Showtime - won't power up

I've had it "charging" for over an hour and it still won't come on.
Display shows a blue battery

I've removed and reinserted battery - to no avail

I've held the Home Key down - to no avail

should I attempt a hard reboot?

bought it three months ago

never mind....took a chance and did the hard reboot (volume, home, power) and able to restore
