Question LineageOS 20 on Android 12?

Hi. First post.

Beginner making my way through LineageOS instruction for flashing their ROM to a OnePlus 7TPro (hotdog) device. The 7TPro only ever reached Android 12 and the lineage build linked to hotdog is Lineage OS 20. I am wantibg to extend the phone life for sustainability and security reasons.

Surely this can't be right if that is based on Android 13? I know I'm missing something here. Should I be flashing LineageOS 19 instead and if so, how best to locate the correct .zip file...? Or is OS20 backward compatible.. ?

Love this project. Is there any other OS with the same level of customizability and general support for all sorts of apps? Like I'm sure some look nicer, some are faster, some offer more tweaks https://9apps.ooo/ , but for an all around excellent rom, you can't beat lineageos can you? I always buy a phone based on LOS support, I'm running a poco f3 now.

Lineage is a completely different Android build from Oxygen OS and has nothing to do with it. There is no reason that LineageOS for the 7T would be held back by whatever version OxygenOS got to.
