What I wish Google would do is something like this: A new developer gets on Play, and they are automatically audited every time they submit an app. Once they have established themselves as genuine, they get audited less. Might be kind of hard to establish, given that who knows how many apps get uploaded to Play. But still it's something.

It is the old "better mouse trap, better mouse" deal brought up to date. Hackers/thieves are going to go where the money is, and today there's lots of it in apps. I doubt there will ever be a day when electronic devices are totally safe. Congrats to those who fight this issue.

On the bright side, unlike the 1800s, we've had very few stagecoach holdups lately.
