List of suggested words not shown in auto-correct on Samsung keyboard or GBoard?

Not sure how to describe this, so please refer to the picture. For some reason, sometimes the list of suggestions for auto correction is not listed. Is there a setting to correct this? I am using Textra, not the native text message app.

I only use the stock app and it does give you a list of suggestions.

Edit: Your question just helped me. It was driving me INSANE that the auto-correct would automatically replace the word. When I went into the auto-correct list, it allowed me to turn the auto-replace off. Thank you!!
