Little confused about updates

I got two system updates today, one this morning and one tonight. Both updates were only available after manually clicking the "check updates" button. I have the phone set to automatically install updates so I thought they would be pushed to the phone but apparently not. Do I have a setting wrong?

Updates are pushed to phones in batches, your phone also scans the availability of updates periodically, and if you happen to manually check for it between the release of the new batch and before your phone set to scan it, there you'll find it after your manual check. Otherwise it'll still come to you, maybe a couple of hours later.
