Doesn't work for me either under that app. I uninstalled and went back to stock. I like the stock one. Everything works and the themes apply nicely

I use Gboard. Save the message by long pressing on the failed message. Then attach like a photo. Will send that way.

will it animate like normal? Gboard is a million times better than the Samsung keyboard but it sucks you have to do all this extra stuff just to send basically a gif..

Yes the animations work this way. And it is annoying. But I much prefer Gboard.
