Live messages grainy looking

Ok so me and my girlfriend both have the note 10's, mine is the plus and hers is the regular. yesterday our live messages came through looking great, but today they are all grainy. Any idea why?? We've made sure its mp4 that we are sharing it as

When you send to your wife , her end looks grainy or both ends ?

You can try going into phone settings>type in the sear bar live message then tap> go to storage clear cache then back out and force stop , see if this helps .

Tried it and still a no go. When it plays it give black bars on the sides and the picture is smaller looking then when I write it

Hmm....I'm trying to play with this myself, you noticed when you edit gives option gif or mp4?

Yeah I seen that and used both mp4 and gif.

Does this happen for all the ones you sent or certain ones ?

As of today it's been all of them. I've tried 3-4 second clips and even 7-8 seconds all the same

So this mostly video clips giving a issue , I'm stumped on this myself as I dont use this that often ,last time it was in the keyboard.
Let's see if anyone else having same issue.

Yeah it's just strange how one day it was fine and then the next it isn't working right.

Yeah definitely agree there.
You could try in safe mode see if you can send just to rule out any 3rd party app might be causing any issues .

I'll definitely give that a shot and go from there as well

Yeah it's just strange how one day it was fine and then the next it isn't working right.

I tend to want to put it on a setting that got changes. so many settings affect other things.

edit - or even a new app, as has been suggested.

Ok so yesterday I was waiting for my girlfriend to get home so we could try the live messages in safe mode. Well she sent one to me without being in safe mode and it came through clear, I sent one back, it was clear.... Tried it again still clear... This is confusing... maybe just the network not being able to hold the image transfer?

That's possible , you have to experiment more .

So I found out it's when I'm connected to wifi!! If I send when connected to wifi its grainy, if I send over just cellular it's not grainy
