live screen on computer

Back when i had a Treo 700 Wx, there was a program you could run that you could plug your phone in, fire this up, and run the phone from your computer.

Over this past week, i dropped my phone in a way that disabled the screen. Was wondering if there was something like this, so that i could retrieve anything like texts or calls i may have received before i send it in.

The only way I have found to do this is by downloading the "droid vnc server" app then use a vnc viewer program on your computer. The droid app will give you an ip to connect too. Works pretty good but not sure this will work for your particular situation.
