Does anyone know if the verizon samsung


s3 is both a cdma and gsm phone its my understanding that verizon is onlycdma and does not use Sim cards. But my s3 has a Sim card. I want to switch my phone to straight talk didn't know if I could just get Sim card or if I must have phone flashed to straight talk

Welcome to Android Central! I think Verizon still uses CDMA for voice calls--voice over LTE is something they're working on, but it isn't widespread. 4G LTE is what uses GSM, so the SIM card is necessary for 4G LTE mobile data. Anyone who knows more should feel free to correct me and call me a dodo.
