Loading Xionia kernal and YOUR MOM ROM?

I tried looking everywhere through google and all kinds of videos to try and find how to do this but I have my Optimus S rooted and running the latest Xionia CWMA v1.2518.6 Clockwork recovery. I am trying to load the Xionia redux 08312011 custom kernel into my phone via the "apply sdcard:update.zip" option from recovery mode. When I select the option on the menu I get the following message:

Finding update package
opening update package
verifying update package
E: signature verification failed
installation aborted.

It shows the same error for both the redux xionia signed custom kernel and the YOUR MOM rom which leads me to believe that the problem is within the signature verification option.

I have been trying to find a way to disable it for the past hour now but nothing, does anybody have any ideas? Am I doing the whole thing wrong? BTW I am taking the folders which are getting downloaded into my computer and just compressing them into .zip files, except when I convert them into .zip files I just rename them update without the .zip extension because I read somewhere that if you leave them like that in the root of the SD card folder, the recovery menu will see it as update.zip.zip .... is this true?

XioniaRedux is meant for Android 2.2 and CyanogenMod 7 ONLY. The only OC kernel available for Your Mom ROM and other official 2.3-based ROMs is GingerKernel, which is built-in to every official 2.3-based ROM.

So what you're saying is that if I download GingerKernel I should be able to install YOUR MOM rom?

I just tried loading GingerKernel 2.6.35.7 v07.1 by running both compressed .zip without the .zip file extension and renamed "update" filename and also by adding the .zip extension and I still get the same error code. What's going on? Is there something I am not doing right?

One more thing, I have the ZVD ROM, do I need ZVH to be running YOUR MOM?

1. That's because you accidentally renamed it to "update.zip.zip" probably.

2. Also, you must have ZVH to flash Your Mom ROM, it says so in the ROM thread.

3. Your Mom ROM is an UNSIGNED alpha build. You must turn signature verification off in order to flash it.

damn... I actually read through a lot of that your mom rom page and I never saw anything about ZVH.. I don't know if I'd be willing to change over either after some of the mixed reviews I saw on it.. Even if I don't put a .zip on it at all it still gives me an error for the kernel though, is there any custom rome for ZVD that is out there? I can't seem to find the page I ran into earlier about all the custom rome and kernels.
