Location services auto turning on

Recently I've noticed that my S6 has been automatically turning on the location stuff I turned off. It's enabling the "GPS, WIFI, mobile networks" location toggle which is the top one. I always only enable the middle one for "wifi and mobile networks". I keep GPS off to save battery.

Anyone know how to stop this from happening and why it's happening in the first place?

Watch for popup notifications from Google asking you if you want to improve your location (often when opening Google Maps). Saying yes to that typically turns on all of that stuff.

Thx B Diddy. I'm aware of those, but perhaps I got I'm a hurry and said yes instead of no. Hmmm, I'll have to pay closer attention to see if I'm doing this to myself

Yeah, I've done that myself a few times. Then I notice my battery dropping a little more quickly than usual, and then notice my GPS and wi-fi scanning turned on.:-\

Exactly! Now that I'm watching for it though I'm pretty certain this isn't the cause.
