no, previously you could lock a message so it could not accidentally be deleted . this option is now not available.

Options come up but lock/ unlock not there

It is for the stock messaging app

It's possible they took away the option in a recent update. Let me ask some of the other Ambassadors that have Samsung devices. @mustang7757, @SpookDroid, any ideas?

In that case, your best bet is to look at 3rd party SMS apps like Textra to see if they have that option.

If you press on a particular message, then three dots, then star message that will save it. It won't lock it per se, but it will never be deleted.
