I just read the article on this site about using the GS3's lock screen and security features, and have a question... I have my GS3 set to use a pin. I also have it set to lock 5 minutes after the screen dims. If I press the button after the screen dims but before the 5 minutes are up, it takes me to the lock screen and I need to swipe to get to my main home screen. However, I would like to completely eliminate the swipe function. Here is the behavior that I want:

If my screen dims and I press the "menu" button within the five minutes, I want to go directly back to the home screen. I do not want to swipe first.

And... I if press the "menu" button after the five minute, I want to go directly to the screen where I enter my PIN. I do not want to swipe first.

I just want to completely eliminate the swipe. Is that possible?

Weird... Works for me and I have the pattern lock. The thing is I have it lock automatically after the screen shuts off.

That's easy...

Settings... Security... Screen Lock... Enter your PIN...then select a different "screen lock" option from the list.

settings> Security> Screen Lock> and bottom of the list check "None".

Then when you hit the home button or power button it will open it right up to the home page.

cool thanks. i set a pin and then realised that its pointless having anti theft tracker apps when a theif will just throw the phone away if its unusable. i just use Applock to lock down settings, play store, gmail, amazon etc
