Lock Screen Notification

I just got the my ATT G6. I have the Lock Screen notifications checked to "Show All Notification" but it's only showing the symbol not the message. So I have a email come in through Inbox and on my G20, it would show the subject and who the email was from on the screen. When I got a text through Textra it would show the message for a few seconds. On the G6, when I change the Lock screen notification from Show all notifications or Hide Sensitive only, nothing changes. All setting just shows me the symbol of the notification and not any of the actually message. Is there a setting different on the G6 from the V20?

You must be talking​ about the always on screen notification which will only show the icon. If you double tap the screen it'll take you to the lock screen which will show you the notification info.
