Lock Screen Notifications & Shortcuts not showing anymore

Within the last couple of days, shortcuts on my lockscreen are no longer showing up and neither are notifications for texts or missed calls that you can swipe and go directly to.

At the same time there must have been some kind of minor update to the OS as notifications for texts and e-mails in the notifications bar are now showing multi-line previews and are much bigger, i.e. I can read the first 3 lines of an e-mail rather than just half the first line as it takes up about 20% of the notification screen now.

There was no system update that I was made aware of and installed that I can point a finger at for these changes. There was one about 3 or 4 weeks ago that updated to Android 4.1.1. I'm running Sense 4+.

Have done the obvious things like checked settings etc. but option for 'Show lock screen short cuts' is ticked and should be working.

Anyone else having this problem or have a solution?? A factory reset would be last resort.

The extended notification drawer is part of 4.1. If you use two finger swipe up and down, you can contract/extend them.

As for lockscreen shortcuts being gone... did you by chance install a new launcher? Nova or Apex (or any) will replace the stock Sense launcher (rosie), and you will lose the lockscreen shortcuts. You may be able to use the HTC Lockscreen Provider app to get them back, if you are using another launcher..

Thanks loraque but no, haven't installed any 3rd party launchers or anything that would modify notification settings which is why I suspected a bug in an Android update.

I would try clearing data on the Sense launcher then, but I do not have it installed to know what it is called in the list. Settings-Apps-All- and in there somewhere, HTC Sense Launcher or Rosie... someone help me out here on what it is called, and CLEAR DATA on it. It will mean you will have to setup your home screens again, as well as the dock buttons (which is the ones that show on the lockscreen).

Okay tried it but no luck. Home screens reset but still no notifications or shortcuts showing on the lock screen.

I am new to android and have been playing with my notifications on the lockscreen.

Try in the "Personalise" app there is a lockscreen style called productivity that has notifications on it and there is a option to show shortcuts on lockscreen.

In your options/security you can enable previews for mail/phone on lockscreen maybe sms is there.

In Sms app in options there is a lockscreen notification.

Hope it helps, my first post.

In jelly bean on sense, the lock screen notifications (larger ones in the middle of the screen) only pop up when in deep sleep now. It still shows up in notification drawer, you can pull down and select it from lock screen to go straight to it.

Not sure why HTC changed this, but they did. It's nothing you did to your phone haha

Yes but I think he's also missing the actual icons that match the dock on the sense launcher, that hover around the lock ring.

Also in sense jellybean you don't pull down/push up with 2 fingers to expand and contract notifications, you pinch in or out from the sides

Sent from my HTC One X

Oh, well in Viper XL JB I pull down with two fingers to expand. But that wasn't my point.. I was just saying he can still pull down the notifications drawer and press the text, and it should unlock and go directly to that message
