Lock Screen Notifications

So I finally persuaded my other half to abandon apple, and am being frustrated by her phone inexplicably missing certain features.

In this particular case, she is getting no WhatsApp notifications when the screen is off.

On my Note8, under Settings>Notifications>WhatsApp there is a setting called “On lock screen: show content”

On her S8, it simply isn’t there. Is this functionality not included in the s8?

it should be included in the s8, as there wouldn't be much of a software difference between the s8 and plus version. I'd try reinstalling the app and see if that works for you. always check to see if the do not disturb setting is on and if so that it is at least set up correctly

What's even more bizarre is that the edge screen notification popup has now stopped working on my Note8 too. It was working this morning. I did install an android update mid afternoon, but all of the settings are as they were before. Is everyone else still getting pop up notifications from Whatsapp on their phones?

You get to that setting the same way on the s8. I wanted to show you a screen shot, but for some reason I can't upload pictures through the AC app anymore.

Ive followed the same path on both phones, only on the s8 the option simply isnt there.

However, it seems this issue is to do with bad updates/ software anyway. Since updating the Note8, edgelighting notifications only work with text messages when the phone's screen is off- not for whatsapp.

This is a real shame, and hopefully will be rectified soon, as the ability to see who has sent you a message without turning the screen on was a great idea.
