Lock Screen Spotify Widget

Since the new update a Spotify widget (a small screen with a pic of the album cover and play/pause controls) appears on my lock screen when im playing music. I hate it. Is there any way to get rid of it?

What app? I don't see Spotify (the official app) on the Play Store. Can you tell me what app are you using to listen?

So I have downloaded Spotify, when I am listening to it and then open up the locks Creek to enter my phone half the screen contains the album info, and play/pause botton. This started only a few days ago when I did the system upgrade. Prior to that I could play spotify and nothing would appear on the lock screen. Thanks.

Oops, I live in Canada.

Apparently there's a 5 month communications delay in Canada, along with whatever Google Play Store restrictions there are in place.
