lock screen weirdness

does anyone get almost a delayed effect when they lock their phone? it doesn't automatically shut the screen down it almost dims then shuts the screen off. it's kinda laggy in a way. same thing when you wake the phone, it's on dim then gets brighter. it's a little weird wondering if this is how the phone is.

For a small fraction of a second my phone dims before turning completely off. Is that what you're describing?

exactly, it's just weird. I guess the phone is like that and its not just mine, thought it was some type of defect. Not a big deal but im just used to instant on/off.
