Lock Screen Widgets, Full Screen and Screen Record

Hello,

Got me a shiny Nexus 5 on Monday and am happy with it apart from no lock screen widgets. Is it just me or are they gone for everyone?
I use a pin code so when waking up phone I want to be able to swipe to the right and choose torch widget, this was working on Nexus 4 Android 4.3. I do get the camera app when swiping left.

I did read about the new full screen mode in KitKat but have yet to see it Chrome still has the bottom buttons and notifications at top. Anyone?

Also, I heard that under KitKat it will be possible to screen record is this true? If so how's it done?

What then? I did that from the outset and cannot figure out how to set them.

I just tried this for the sake of trying. I enabled widgets via the security settings then turned off my screen. When I turn my screen on, and scroll to the left, it has a huge + you can select, once you do that, and enter your pin/pattern, a list of widgets is provided for you to select.

screen recording is done via adb. its developer option not for noob consumers
