There is a rumour that Google may be considering bringing back support for lock screen widgets on Android 15. Personally, I would love to be able to add widgets to my lock screen so that I could view things that are important to me, like the weather forecast, calendar appointments, alarm info, etc. without the need to open up my Pixel 8 Pro. Years ago, Android had the lock screen widget feature and it was unceremoniously removed. Apple currently has this feature and I can’t think of a logical reason that Android couldn’t bring it back.
I have sent a feedback message to Google as follows, by going to Settings>Tips and Support>Send Feedback (tell us how we can improve our product):
Please bring back lock screen widget support in Android 15. Apple has the feature, why not Google?
If you would also like to see Android support for lock screen widgets, consider sending your own message to Google. The more users who speak up regarding the ways Android can improve, the more likely they are to actually implement changes.
