Moto X 2013 begins receiving Android 5.1 update from Verizon | Android Central

The Moto X 2013 is now getting its Android 5.1 update from Verizon following a brief soak test. The update brings a number of feature additions to the original Moto X, including a patch for the Stagefright exploit. Additionally, there are a number of UI improvements, new interruption controls, notification volume control access and more.

If you have not yet received the notification update, you can check manually for the update. To check, head into your Settings, down to About phone and check for the update. Have you already received the update? Be sure to let us know in the comments below how it is working out for you.

Yeah, part one downloaded and installed just fine, now part two is downloading. 712 megs!

It will only let you do it on Wi-Fi.

Mine said the update was only available to download on Wi-Fi and wouldn't let me do it on 4G.

A lot of you pioneers are going to have to come back with low arrow counts in your backs before I let this download.
I estimate installing sometime between October and never.

Downloaded and installed. Sat on the VZW logo screen for about five minutes, now optimizing apps.
