Lollipop issue with iPhone texts

So I have had a sporadic issue prior to lollipop where it seems when I have two iPhone users in a text thread,I don't receive their texts because it is sending it I message on their end. When it is just one or more than two,it seems fine.

After lollipop, its near 100% of the time. I have tried textra, messenger and native (yuck) apps. I had a g2 prior to this and never had an issue. This is not related to my old iPhone and not turning I message off, that was 2 years ago and wasn't an issue up until now.
Thoughts?

I think its more of an imessage issue than Android. As a soon to be former iPhone user (Nexus 6 enroute) I have other iMessage users who have me in group imessages and I don't get all of the replies so its not just Android.

Well,I have been android nearly two years and it was never an issue with my g2. It was hardly an issue for the 8 months prior to lollipop.
I can tell you that I go through my wife's text threads and the ones I don't get are going across as imessage, but this is happening with 3 group threads of just me and two iOS users.

Android might have stopped playing as nice with iOS and this is the result. They don't have to conform to iOS' perverse iMessage system and how poorly compatible it is with the rest of the world's standards of SMS and MMS.

Although it's unlikely since there would be thousands of people complaining about it. Most likely this is a configuration issue on your end.

This is what it has to be,but a factory reset has not resolved.

Have those two iphone users sent you text messages since you moved to Android? I would try going to this site just to ensure your number isn't somehow hung up in Apple's system for a select few iPhones - https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage

Probably won't help a thing since it's been a long time, but surely it won't make it worse and what do you have to lose.

Also, you might have those with the iPhones delete their text thread with you in it (both groups and individual) and then start a new thread. Sometimes that has cleared up the imessage issue. That can be a pain if there are many of them to ask to do that.

Just about all of my family/friends have iPhones and I haven't had an issue with texts or group messages from them after Lollipop. That would annoy the crap out of me, as it would just give them all more barbs to throw about iPhones being better and my Android not even getting their texts.

I have checked the imessage site, and I'm not listed. I have had the threads deleted on both sides, and it didn't correct.
Att tried to tell me to have those iPhone users to turn off imessage.
Smh. I have no problem with other threads between two iOS users. I have no idea where to go from here.

Ugh, that is frustrating. The only other thing I can think of is to have them delete any threads with you in them again, have them delete you as a contact, have them turn off iMessage, reboot their phone and then add you back as a contact and then have them turn their iMessage back on. I had to do this with one specific contact for my wife's phone when I switched her to Android. Granted that was before Apple created their imessage deregister website, but maybe it will work for you.
I'm not too confident it will, especially given that your threads between two iOS users works fine. Hopefully someone can come up with a better solution for you.
