Lollipop - what is happening?

I am with US Cellular, as is my daughter. e Both have Galaxy S5 phones. Two days ago, I received a notice of a push for the Lollipop update. I wasn't near a reliable wi-fi access, so I said to wait. That evening the notification was gone. Yesterday my daughter got the same push and did the update. I have confirmed that she is now on 5.0. I tried to go to my "about device" in the settings to download the update. All through yesterday I got the message that the server had exceeded the number of downloads for the day and to try again later. Today I did the same and it says I am running the most recent update, but I am still on 4.4.2. What the......? Why is this? (Note: my phone is not rooted and I really don't plan to ). I went to the interwebs as well as the US Cellular site and it appears that the S5 on USC isn't even supposed to have 5.0 yet. Why is this happening?

Welcome to Android Central! Were both S5's purchased through US Cellular, or did you get them unlocked somewhere else?

If a system update download fails or is declined, I think you then get put at the end of the queue, and will be prompted again some time in the future. Might be a few days, might be a few weeks.

Yes, both 5's were purchased at US Cellular. My daughter's is about 6-8 months newer than mine. But that is the only difference.
