So far the Preview version is looking very impressive. I've noticed the following,

1) It really is faster. I never really had an issue with performance on Kit Kat but Lollypop definitely feels faster. I just ran AnTuTu a couple of times and it confirms my subjective impression, according to AnTuTu it's twice as fast as it was under KitKat. I'm getting runs between 34000 to 36000, under KitKat the number was usually around 17000. Of course it's entirely possible that it's AnTuTu that's changed. Would someone please run it under KitKat and post the number so that we can all have a basis of comparison.

2) WiFI behaves better. With Lollypop it automatically switches to the strongest access point. I have several routers around my house. Under KitKat it would hang on to an access point even if it was very weak and there was a much better signal available from another. Under Lollypop I can walk around my house and it will always be connected to the strongest signal in that room.

3) Bluetooth seems to work better.

4) The radios seem better. I haven't covered enough ground to tell if this is for real or not but it seems to be having an easier time hanging on to a signal.

5) Battery life seems to be about the same.

Please post yoru impressions.

I'll give my thoughts once L goes gold. The final developers preview is not the final release.

I have not noticed any battery improvement or performance improvement on my N5. The battery was fine, and the phone is really fast on KitKat. What I like is the phone call notification that does not close what you are working on, and simply offers a notification on the top portion of the screen. That is a great addition. Also the notifications on the lock screen that you double click to open are nice. The pull down menu is cleaner and easier to operate. The layered tiles to close applications is easier to use, forget that they have an X on the top right which is harder to hit than simply pushing them right or left, but you can still push them if you want. Only noticed two things with my applications. 1-the auto play videos within FB are blocky almost looks like a lack of bandwidth which it does not have. 2-HERE navigation from Nokia does not work. I know its in Beta, and that could be why, but I have to mention it because the app is great. Other than that all of my other apps work normally, and overall I like the new look. I have not experienced any instability, and it has been my daily driver on my business phone without issues for the last couple of days. Can't wait for the final release.

OP: I ran Antutu on my 4.4.4 N5 only yesterday and got 40726.

Disappointed to hear battery life isn't better. I thought battery was supposed to be improved with L?

How much space is required to install it?

I currently have 1.15GB of available space on my 32GB N5. Will I have to delete stuff before I can download the update?

Regarding the preview building, keep in mind that it's not a final build. L is supposed to have improvements to produce better battery life, and that would be available in the final builds.
