Longpress near (but not on) capacitive buttons)

For the first week or so I had my Photon, I would get a (random) popup asking me if I wanted to complete action using: Go sms, post, quick settings, voice search. Selecting one never seemed to do anything other then launch that app.

Well figured out what causes it. If i long press near a capacitive button that menu will launch. My Epic didn't do this to my knowledge and I seem to do this accidentally a good bit when I hold the phone.

Anyone know exactly what this is supposed to be and if possible how to turn it off? Thanks.
