The trouble with tablets and chromebooks is they have never lived up to the original promise. "The future of computers" I understand the idea of companies not wanting to cannibalise their own product lines, but without the true do it all product tablets will always be secondary products. A nice to have also.
Chromebooks are great but the average consumer doesn't know what they are buying, and those tied in to work ecosystems are safer with a windows or mac os product for compatibility.
The surface products got close but as someone who has had 3 of them the battery life, and lack of power, is what has always stopped them being the game changer. Now we have snapdragon powered ones we are, for now, back to app compatibility issues.
